Joyce Hawley\u2019s singing career began in the late 1960\u2019s in Raleigh, NC.<\/p>\n

She started as a favorite performer on WRAL-TV doing commercials and specials with Charlie Gaddy as well as being an annual entertainer on the local broadcast of the United Cerebral Palsy Telethon.\u00a0 Joyce sang throughout the state with many local bands.\u00a0 After a few years, she formed her own band called \u201cJoyce Hawley and the Rhythm Section.\u201d Joyce performed at all of the popular supper clubs in Raleigh, especially The Velvet Cloak Inn where she worked frequently for 20 years.\u00a0 She traveled regionally to entertain at country clubs, private parties, corporate affairs, weddings and other celebratory events.\u00a0 From 1988-1993, Joyce owned and managed her own supper club called \u201cJoyce\u2019s\u201d at 2404 Wake Forest Road in Raleigh, where she also performed regularly with her band six nights a week .\u00a0 Her range of music has always included country, pop, rock, jazz blues, standards and show tunes.<\/p>\n\n\t
